Fitness Fiesta at Camber – one I sadly missed! It was, by all accounts, yet another outstanding event.  These guys never fail to deliver.  Karl Frew’s 2Step was a major winner from what I can gather.  Oh how I wish I’d gone.

On a more personal level, I started up my own aerobics class in a local village hall.  One evening a week, low impact moves and choones that have groove were promised for a minimal fee.  I bombarded half the village with posters, flyers, leaflet drops etc. and then waited patiently.  You would not believe how many dogs nearly ate my fingers when dropping leaflets through letterboxes!!!! My first class came, 17 people kindly supported me and my nerves were in ruins.  We danced for nearly an hour and had so much fun only had time to stretch (no press ups or anything!).  Since then my ladies have gone from strength to strength and now I know they can do anything I care to throw at them!

Wow! What a year its been so far! Fitness Fiesta at Camber earlier in the year started it off with a bang! With the first convention under way, all eyes were looking to Steve, Lincoln & Ceri to pull off one of the biggest events of the fitness calendar in 2005.  The International Fitness Showcase, and boy, did they ever pull that one out of the bag.  The Winter Gardens at Blackpool was the venue and it was taken over with style. Exhibitors’ stands were in the “horseshoe” where all manner of goods and services were for sale.  There were interactive YMCA classes, all types of dance styles that you could imagine – and some you couldn’t imagine too.  There were fireworks, yes, in the classes!!  The music was banging, no matter which room you went into.  There were video screens and there were whoops of joy and elation from all those who attended.  Well done guys – booking is underway for next year already, now where’s my Barclaycard…………….
So, with the IFS over, the “convention comedown blues” began to set in.  So, off I trotted to Holmes Place, in Cricklewood, to the Action UK Team Launch!  Well! What can I say?  AMAZING! The people were so friendly, so enthusiastic, so passionate about their classes! Whistles were blowing, people were whooping, me,……… I was just sweating - profusely!  Karl Frew, Director of Action UK, has one of the most unique talents in the fitness industry that I have ever seen. He has such a humbling attitude. It is so refreshing to see.  And this man only asked for side steps and he got sooo much more – the excitement and anticipation on the faces there, was quite extraordinary.   As for 2STEP - well, he definitely wears the crown.  His reputation was certainly lived up to!  It was also great to see the lurrrvly Denise Page there too – joining in and looking drop dead gorgeous and naturally talented as usual.  The music was amazing and the atmosphere was totally buzzing! Now when’s the next one………..

Once again, the convention comedown sets in! So, another Fitness Fiesta convention beckons.  This time it’s off to Hemsby, near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk…………. But it’s not until 13th May………… so in the meantime, there’s a YMCAfit/Action UK Academy and New Presenter Search late April, so I can’t wait to see some of the new talent to come out of that.
